About the Class
Hair removal is one of the fastest-growing services in the salon and spa industry. People of all ages and genders are frequently requesting these types of service. This course reviews the basics of hair structure, types, and the growth of hair. It also covers the importance of the care of the skin from which the hair grows. Included is the importance and purpose of a thorough client consultation and infection control. The course concludes with the steps and demonstration of the traditional hair removal service known as waxing.

About the Instructor - Judy Garcia
JUDY GARCIA is an Advanced Practice Esthetician and Nail Technician and holds a C.I.D.E.S.C.O. Diplomaté and AIE Certified Clinical Aesthetician. She is a former salon owner and adjunct instructor for Ridgewater College where she taught an advanced esthetic certificate program. Judy has worked as a freelance esthetics educator and skin care product sales representative and has more than 38 years of experience in the professional beauty industry. She has traveled extensively teaching advanced aesthetics classes to aestheticians, cosmetologists and medical professionals. Judy spent two and half years training with dermatologist Dr. James E. Fulton, co-developer of Retin-A. Judy is the Salon and Spa Professional Associations Education Coordinator where she develops and designs continuing education courses for SSPA.  Ms. Garcia is the developer of the CORE continuing education program for SSPA.
